Prebaked Anode Blocks

Egyptalum prebaked anode plant was started up in June 2000 and currently produces 172000 tpy. that is considered the designed capacity. The plant consists of:

 

-  1-Green Mill : using a Buss K600 continuous mixer with a capacity of 35 tph and an Erich cooler to prepare paste for a FCB Vibrocompactor where the green anode is obtained by compaction of the paste a vibrating mold. The green anode is manufactured from three carbon constituents , calcined coke (65 %) , recycled baked products (20 %) and coal tar pitch (15 %)

 

 

 

 

 

 

2- Anode Baking Furnace :It is aluminium Pechiney open ring type furnace , it consists of 66 sections and each section have 9 flue walls and 8 pits in which green anode blocks is baked. Baked carbon anodes is ready for use in pot lines after rodding.The produced baked anodes meets the specifications that attached below.
