To ensure that the needs of the workers and their families are met, the city at NagHammady has developed a comprehensive range of services. Being virtually self-sufficient, the city has its own plantation and livestock farms providing fruit,vegetables, meat and dairy products. Water is obtained via some 32 artesian wells.

There are schools providing care and education from nursery to secondary levels.

Leisure facilities are substantial catering for a wide variety of activities from football, tennis, squash and basketball to swimming, and volleyball to mention but a few. There is also an open air cinema, theatre and children's play area.
