From the heart of Upper Egypt... from the giant "Egypt Aluminum" complex in Nag Hammadi

Since its establishment in 1969, the Egypt Aluminum complex in Nag Hammadi—a subsidiary of the Holding Company for Metallurgical Industries, a subsidiary of the Ministry of Public Business Sector—has remained a steadfast symbol of national industry and development in Upper Egypt.

As part of its development and expansion strategy, Egyptalum continues to implement a series of ambitious projects aimed at increasing production capacity and promoting sustainability. These projects include: rehabilitating the existing smelter to extend its operational lifespan by an additional 20 years; adding new production capacities of 300,000 tons per year, bringing the total capacity to approximately 600,000 tons; supplying and operating a modern wire production machine with a capacity of 60,000 tons per year; signing an agreement with the global Norwegian company Scatec to establish a 1 GW solar power plant, with foreign investments amounting to $650 million, in support of clean energy transition efforts; implementing a slag recycling project to contribute to enhancing sustainability and environmental conservation; and expanding investment opportunities to produce new value-added products such as rims and aluminum foil. Through these projects, the Nag Hammadi Aluminum Complex affirms its commitment to its role as one of the most important pillars of national industry and its commitment to keeping pace with global developments in the aluminum industry, supporting the country's plans to transition to a green and sustainable economy.
